So far winter camp has been lots of fun for our members attending.  This first week of camp has brought the members attending hands on activities including a Hawaiian Christmas – the kids got to make their own Hawaiian Lei in our art room and make their very own pineapple fruit smoothie!

On Wednesday the members had a special guest reader Hank Sauer came in to our program and read the Polar Express to the kids.  He did a fabulous job and all of our members enjoyed the reading and filled our gym with the Christmas Spirit by ringing their bells that Hank gave each one of them to take home.  Our day was filled with fun and truly brought the book to life all day long!

The members are ending the week celebrating a day filled with making gingerbread houses, baking cookies and even playing a life size version of candy land in our gym!  We are filling our rooms with fun and laughter and playing lot’s of games – including getting some time in the computer lab, and our Games Room where the members are getting to get active with our new XBOX Kinnect!  The staff and Boys & Girls Club members are having a great time. 

 

Next week we are looking forward to venturing out on a field trip and going bowling!  The kids will be bringing the  outdoors inside by having an indoor snow ball fight, making snow displays and having reindeer relays!  Should be lot’s more fun gearing up to ring in the New Year!
