MAC Summer Day Camps
Summer Day Camps at the Music and Arts Center are designed to give your child an in depth look at a variety of subjects including technology, music, art and healthy living.
Each camp is filled with enriching classes, sports, recreation, activities, and field trips throughout the Tri-Cities and surrounding communities.
MAC camps include classroom based instruction as well as time for self directed activities. The MAC opens at 8:00 AM but can open as early as 7:00 AM on request. Members need to arrive by 9AM to fully participate in the class schedule. Each day members will attend six 45-minute classes pertaining to the weekly theme. There is a midday break for lunch and sports or lesuire activities in the park from 11:30-1:00. Classes end at 4:00 PM. At this time parents can pick up their children or members are welcome to utalize the games room, comuter lab, and continue working on camp projects until close at 6:30 PM. In addition to the class schedule members will have opprotunities to participate in special activities like swimming, library, movie theatre, and excursions to a variety of locations in and around the Tri-Cities.
Special Events for Summer 2010
- Weekly swimming at Ken Serier Memorial Pool
- Weekly Trips to Mid-Columbia Library for programs and book checkout
- Fishing at Columbia Park
- Allied Arts Art in the Park
- Overnight camping trip
- Benton Fraklin Fair Parades and Kid's Day
Extended drop-in will be available from 7 AM – 8 AM for an additional $10/week or $3/day. A minimum of 24-hour advance notice is required for extended drop-in.
Camp offerings are subject to change based on enrollment numbers.
